Let us introduce ourselves, we are Jo-Anne (Jo) and Steve and we are dedicated to providing an animal control service to all.
J & S Animal Control are a family operated business servicing Central Victoria, Australia. Our business was created from a love of animals, a passion towards hunting to reduce overpopulated species as well as provide all of our family and friends with an animal control service for vermin impacting their farms, businesses and livelihoods.
We started our businesses from a hunting passion which had been passed down through generations; however finding that our friends and family valued our commitment to providing vermin control outcomes we continued to build upon our passionate hunting lifestyle and turn it into a business that we are proud of today.
We had a dream that one day we would be able to provide this service to anyone who needed a hand, who may not have any knowledge of how to reduce animal numbers impacting their homes and/or businesses which simply do not have the time themselves and wanted to ensure a success rate occurred.
This is how J & S Animal Control came into existence; we wanted to provide a service within the community that some members may find difficult to attend to themselves, may be time poor or may not have the right gear to get the job done.
There are many reasons people call us and different scale jobs from a few rabbits impacting a vegetable garden to large scale numbers of overpopulated deer within water catchments.
We have seen for ourselves the damage that overpopulated animals have on our flora and fauna within Australia and we wanted to do something about this. If feral animals are impacting you and/or your business we want to help.
J & S Animal Control is here to provide all of your animal control services and we wanted that known to all of our clientele, nothing is too small or too large for us.
We are passionate about sustainable resourcing and repurposing and want to see less wastage and promote game meat for human and animal consumption.
J & S Animal Control has evolved from strength to strength solely off word of mouth, positive recommendations and successful outcomes.

Safety
At J & S Animal Control safety is first and foremost our number one priority when delivering a service, safety to our team, clients, neighbouring properties and the wider community. We are trained to ensure that safety is the first deliverable of any service whether a contract is large or small. Without a safe working environment J & S Animal Control will not engage in vermin management services.
At J & S Animal Control a safe work method statement is completed for every job, this identifies risks including:
- Terrain and visual blockers
- Fencing and boundaries being established
- Safe shooting zones
- Environmental risks
- Agricultural/Livestock
- Business impacts (loss of money)
- Household pets
- Firearm/s working order/storage, ammunition/storage
- Inspecting first aid kits
- Client notified of firearms use and times of day/night
Humane Practices
At J & S Animal Control we are animal lovers and although we understand that overpopulated vermin require removal we ensure all dispatching is carried out through humane practices.
All kangaroos harvested comply with the National Code of Practice for Humane Shooting of Kangaroos and Wallabies for Commercial Purposes.
All other game animals harvested comply with the required Victorian Legislation and Code of Conduct.

We treat all of our customers with the upmost respect, respect for their families, homes, businesses, neighbours and wider community. Some individuals would prefer a discreet service of which we are most obliging to provide after-hours services and inconspicuous encounters when requested.
At J & S Animal Control we value the trust which our clients delegate to our team, we understand that without trust we would not be able to provide successful outcomes. Communication is something that we excel at, we are happy to discuss service options over the phone, face to face or via email. We understand that sometimes our clients do not understand what options are available in a pest service however that is where our knowledge and experience shine.

We are dedicated to ensuring we provide the least amount of impact on the environment and surrounding community.
Conservation of vermin animals through population management and eradication is crucial to the survival of our native flora and fauna here in Victoria. At J & S Animal Control we take conservation very seriously and have assisted where we can with revitalising natural habitats and protecting agricultural crops.
Sustainable outcomes is a huge passion of ours and one we take very seriously, we will repurpose all game harvested animals where possible as accredited Game Harvesters with the appropriate tag systems in place.
Education & Innovation
We will provide education and tips to improve your vermin management into the future, our goal is that your needs are met in the short term and in the long term making ourselves redundant at your property.
At J & S we understand that education is key to long term results and we want to make sure we leave you with a positive outcome for the short term and a long term plan that you may be able to manage on your own.
